Sharing is Caring

Check out our Sharing is Caring Blog for ongoing updates!

About the program

Sharing is Caring is our program where we help other groups or individuals who are helping the animal community by "sharing the wealth." When we get donations from Petsmart or the community, we share those with other groups so they can continue their work.

We help the feral cat caregivers with food, share our donated dog toys, treat, collars, leashes etc with other non-profits who might not be as fortunate as us to have a
partnership with Petsmart.

We also give on a regular basis to Animal Spay & Neuter stuffed animal toys to keep
their animal patients comfortable when they are in the hospital for their spay/neuter surgery. The toys go home with the pet parents.

They also have a thrift store and we donate goods to them to sell at the store to raise money for their spay/neuter efforts.

We believe caring for animals is everyone's responsibility. Homeless cats living on the streets (whether they are feral or tame) are a community responsibility. People put them there. People allowed them to reproduce and have unwanted litters.

It is ALL of our responsibility to help them and that means getting them spayed/neutered, feeding them, getting them medical care if they are in need.

Petsmart on Laguna in Elk Grove is sharing donations of food from their customers with us, and we are in turn using it not only for our fosters but giving it to other cat caregivers in our community. Mainly feral cat caregivers feed hundreds of feral cats and pay for everything out of their own pocket never getting any thanks or appreciation from anyone.

We want to thank Petsmart for their ongoing efforts to ask their customers to donate for us. We always take donated goods (dog and cat) and if we can't use them we will find someone else who needs it.

Our Volunteer Leslie has not only been loading up the storage unit with these heavy cases, but keeping inventory for us. She definitely manages all the donations in the storage unit and it is a huge undertaking.

Kudos Petsmart!
