About three years ago we got a call from the SPCA that one of our cats was in the shelter and she had our microchip. They said her name was Molly and I knew instantly which Molly it was. Our beautiful Maine Coon beauty that had been adopted in 2007 was taken to Bradshaw Vet as a stray. Her paws were bloody from her nails being imbedded in her paw pads, her ears or raw from infection, and she was severely thin. Dr. Petrunich said she looked like she hadn't eaten in quite sometime. After doing some research, it turns out the person who brought her in as a "stray" was actually the owner. We had adopted her to a woman many years back and this was her son. The mother had passed away and Molly had been living with the sons family. I guess they got tired of her. They didn't even have the decency to call us to take her back but or own up to the fact that she belonged to them. She was not a stray at all! Animal control investigated and said the living conditions were deplorable and other animals in the home or not being taken care of. I wanted to press charges but it would've required calling the veterinarian to testify, and others for testimony and it simply was not feasible. Animal control did what they could do and luckily we got Molly.

I promised her she would never look for another home again. She was originally adopted at the ripe old age of 10ish, so at this point she was pushing 16-17 years old. She lived in my house, slept wherever she wanted, loved the other cats and the dogs, and was a perfect little lady. We took all but four of her teeth out because they were rotten and every once in a while she would give you a love bite with the four canines that were left in her mouth and it hurt! But it was definitely a love bite. She loved her wet food, she loved sitting in your lap and being loved and petted and purred and talked constantly. She also loved to lick your nose- lick and then love bite! She purred all the way to the end today snuggled up in her plush little brown donut bed. Now she will have a peaceful resting place at the Lapcats Manor. Rest in peace sweet Molly. I will never forget you.

I myself !I've animals ,that was definitely not right that the lady's son never returned her if he did not like cats & even more so ignoring the poor animal, it breaks my heart to see such cruelty to innocent animals.
