Ajax Update!

12/31/2017

Porter is now Ajax. Everything is going great. He’s a happy little kitten! He likes to sleep down at my side at night, and I’ve found his favorite toys so far are a lazer pointer and this wand thing with leather strips at the end of a string.

A buddy of mine got some professional lighting setups for his DSLR for christmas. So we were using Ajax as a model for practice. Check it out.

Brody and Sophie Update!

12/27/2017

I was looking for a fur baby last year and found my main man Brody at Lapcats. He had a broken leg and Lapcats rescued him from the Yolo Shelter.

My husband and I instantly fell in love with Brody. Months later, we decided to get him a brother or sister so I contacted Barbara to help us find a perfect match for our family.

She sent me photos of Sophie (who’s shelter name was Yanna) and it was ❤️ at first sight. We brought her home and for a while she and Brody did not get along but... as you can see, they ended up falling in love with each other. Now they are inseparable and always have to be close to each other.

These two babies have made our lives complete. We love them so much and we are so thankful to Lapcats for finding them for us.

Oliver and Suzu Update!

We absolutely love Kobe (now Oliver) and Suzu.  We tried to keep them in the master bath for a few days, but they, Oliver, was not happy.  We let them out and they  are all over our house,.  They follow me everywhere and try and help me do what ever I'm doing.  I love it.  They are so loving and cuddly.   They fit right in.  It's like they've been here forever.  Thanks for letting us have them.

Lager and Donut Update!

Hi All!

Angus (Lager) and Sophie (Donut) are doing really well and thriving.

Michelle has been in Florida this week due to a family emergency, so Sophie has been staying at my home with her brother Angus and my two older kitties. The older girls still are reserving judgment, but Angus & Sophie are loving being together again and are into EVERYTHING. They spend most of their time together . . . when they aren't interacting with me and/or my roommate Robert. When Robert is done with work for the day, he spends his time crawling around on the floor playing with both kittens and brushing them out, and they are both getting used to and expecting to being brushed on a daily basis.

I have a toy that has a cardboard scratcher that's in the middle of a plastic track-ball thingie, and they both love taking turns playing with that  . . plus they are both showing early signs of addiction to my laser pointer device. For obvious reasons, we're not using that much as a toy, only an occasional distraction!! But this house here has a TON of kitty toys, so they are both very engaged. We have squeaky toys, feather toys, and "fishing toys" that have different kinds of ends. Just this morning, a stuffed bird toy with a feather tail lost his entire tail  . . . . there were feathers EVERYWHERE over the living room. But hey, that's why they call them toys, right? The kitties enjoy them and all toys are disposable.

Both kitties are very much loved, and while Michelle is out of town I've been sending her pics of Sophie. I'm attaching a couple of those pics for you, and also some pics of Angus.

Also attached a pic of our kitty tree, which is 7' tall and custom-made to my specifications. The oversized base is 30" square, and all upright posts are solid pine 4x4", wrapped in sisal rope, plus carpeted plywood shelves and "cabin" levels, and a solid plywood base, carpeted (NO PRESSED WOOD OR CARDBOARD).

The 'tree' was originally meant to accomodate 4 large cats who would make runs at it from across the room, so the kittens are truly enjoying themselves on it, as they are so small they can't even make it move at all. My older girlies prefer to spend most of their time on my bed nowadays, so they don't mind the kittens being on the 'tree'. When Robert and I are in the living room, the kittens spend most of their time in there with us.

Head bumps for a wonderful Christmas!!!
