Sweet Molly (now Meeps) was rescued from the shelter in 2012 at the height of kitten season. We found her in the back of the shelter in the ISO ward because she had a severe case of upper respiratory ( a kitty cold) and had been abandoned. She had a microchip with a dead-end somebody abandoned her and she was scheduled to be euthanized because of her illness, her age (10+) and she was also FIV+. After many, many months in foster care, her perfect family came along. They did not care about her advanced age nor her FIV status. All they saw was a loving and beautiful cat who needed a home. Erin and Daniel adopted her, renamed her Meeps and came back several months later for a friend and adopted our Cheerio! As you can see from this video, nothing has crushed her spirit and age her is irrelevant. Meeps will forever be a kitten and we will never forget her❤️ Showing her luxurious fur and lovely temperament. She is by far the smartest cat I have had, as well. Thank you for keeping her safe until we found each other!
Merrill About a year and a half after my best buddy, an orange tabby named Dante passed away, I went looking for another orange boy to help fill the void. I wanted to adopt a special needs cat who might have a hard time finding a forever home. That's when I found Champ. He was born without the majority of his upper eyelids, so his eyes looked a little different, but to me that just made him all the cuter. The surgery he got while at LAPCATS went really well, and he ended up not needing to continue his eye drops. Now he only occasionally needs a few hairs around his eyes plucked, which he is very good about.
He is absolutely the cutest, happiest teddy bear and a big cuddle bug. I love waking up in the morning and having him purr and chatter as he kneads away next to me in bed. He's got the best kitty cat vocabulary. He loves jumping up into my lap and rolling around to get belly rubs, sitting in the window watching the doves at the bird feeder outside, playing with his mouse toys, and wrestling with his brothers, Rusty and Bo. He and Bo have become best buddies. He's still not too sure what to make of the "mutant kitty" (aka, Friedrich the turtle), who when out of his tank likes to steal the cat toys. While nobody could ever replace my buddy Dante, Champ has really filled a huge hole in my life and I can't imagine my life now without him and his big beautiful eyes. April
Finally some pictures of my grandma Margaret (Margy) and Fanci. She adores that cat! She can't believe how gentle and sweet she is. I think they look quite happy with each other😄.
Thanks again for everything, Jennifer |
